... is doing a small-ish tour of the UK next year. And I'm going with some mates! Win!

Going to the MEN Arena (Manchester). Tickets are 30 a pop ($55, at a guess) but it'll be so worth it. Grin

Kanye West doesn't care about white people.

Happy to take their money. His televised show was full of white people. Quite funny, to be honest.

I don't like his music. Then again I don't like rap, hiphop or anything 'urban' in general. Different people, different tastes.

I find him to be one of the few 'urban' artists that i do actually think is good at what he does, Diamonds From Sierra Leone being one of my favourites.
What makes you think he doesn't care about white people?

My favourite genre is a cross between pop and technical punk (Rise Against, A Wilhelm Scream, Strung Out, etc.) but I love some rap.

They've got hardcore influences. Not screamo. If you confuse the two then you need a little education Wink

Paul is the standard "musical snob" as explored in High Fidelity. Happy This is usually when he calls us all philistines.

Anyway - I hate fecking hippedy hobbedy hobbedy hippedy nonsense. To steal a t'internet phrase: "We built this city on rock and roll - not that R&B nonsense".

Never seen that. I'm not a snob (my playlist goes from stuff like Rise Against, to the Rolling Stones, to random punk/screamo to rap... even Justin Timberlake) I just know roughly where genre divides lie.

On a slight tangent, inspired by Paul talking about his playlist.

I'm very annoyed by people who say "I've got a very ecletic taste in music". To my mind, everyone has an ecletic taste; its just that a great many people are embaressed or ashamed or just don't want to discuss certain types of music they enjoy.

I'm sure everyone has had the 'tapping the foot when a song comes on the radio' and stopping when you think people might be watching you. Anyway; is this just me? Or do other people secretly enjoy Rick Astley, Bonnie Tyler and James Brown?

Anyone who hides a love for James Brown is a spanner.
